Visiting any church for the very first time can be a tough experience. Well, we want to put you at ease. We hope that your first visit to Calvary will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.
Where do I go?
Upon entering the doors of Calvary Baptist Church, a friendly greeter will be there to direct you to any of the classes for children or adults. Should you have any nursery age children you will be led to our clean, caring nursery. If you need help finding a seat in the service, one of the ushers will gladly find a place for you.
What’s here for my kids?
On Sunday mornings there is a fun, friendly, Bible-centered Sunday school class and Junior church for children 4 years old through the 6th grade. Our teaches strive to make church exciting and memorable for your child. For children 3 years old and under there is a safe, clean nursery provided during every service.
What is there for adults?
We begin with Sunday school at 9:30 AM. During this time, we have the opportunity to be encouraged and strengthened from God’s Word. Our morning worship service follows at 10:30 AM. During this service we gather to sing praise to God, worship Him through tithes and offerings, and be challenged through the preaching of God’s Word. This service is a little over an hour in length.
How should I dress?
There is not a dress code at Calvary Baptist Church for members or for guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is for you to feel welcome and comfortable on your first visit here at Calvary Baptist!
Are there services at other times?
Yes. Sunday evening at 6:00 PM we meet again to worship the Lord and develop relationships with the CBC family. We also meet on Wednesday night at 6:30 PM for our mid-week Prayer meeting and Bible study. If you can’t be our guest on Sunday morning, we hope you’ll consider visiting with us during another service time.
Am I expected to participate in the offering?
No. We don’t invite you to Calvary Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
